Mattresses Made Entirely From Sustainable Natural Materials
There are no metal spring units inside our Natural mattresses, instead the tension is created by using different combinations of natural materials.
Organic coconut coir is a stiff, wiry material, that when woven together into thick sheets creates a firm bounce to rival any metal spring. We use this in differing depths to create firmer and softer mattresses. We then add layers of natural latex, tapped from the Hevea tree, as well as organic wool sourced from direct from sheep farms in Devon and Somerset. Click on each product below to see the unique ingredients that go into them.
The mattresses are wrapped in a hand made cotton tick, which is treated with Greenfirst - an all natural treatment derived from geranium, lavender, lemon and eucalyptus. This undetectable treatment banishes bed bugs, dust mites, mosquitoes and moths for the life of the mattress.

Why choose an all natural mattress?
When customers come into our showrooms and chat to us about their needs, they have often come to Naturalmat because they are struggling to find a sustainable, natural mattress on the High Street.
Each year in the UK alone over 167,000 tonnes of mattresses arise as waste, so many people are looking for a more environmentally friendly option, that can be fully recycled at the end of its life.
Some consumers have specific health and wellbeing needs that mean they are looking for a mattress without metal inside. We’re here to help!
Many people simply prefer the feel of a mattress without metal springs. The natural fillings give a denser, more supportive feel than traditionally sprung mattresses.
We use no fire retardant chemicals - instead we have developed a way of weaving wool into our covers which meets all the relevant British Fire Safety Standards without the use of toxic and harmful chemicals.
If you have never tried an all natural fibre mattress we would recommend visiting one of our showrooms to test them out, and see if you prefer a squish or a bounce
