Our most luxurious pocket sprung mattress blends nature’s most decadent materials for the ultimate in comfort.

No expense has been spared to bring together this harmonious orchestra of the most prized natural mattress making materials - including cashmere and needled horsehair. All perfectly balanced with one aim in mind: a better night’s sleep, naturally.

    From the sap of the Hevea rubber tree. A springy and supportive natural alternative to synthetic foams.

  • 2. Organic Coir

    Organic coconut husk fibres, bound with rubber. Breathable, supportive, durable, and an infinitely renewable material.

  • 3. Pocket Springs

    Hand nested in individual cotton pockets and available in three tensions - firm, medium and soft.

  • 4. Organic Wool

    Sourced from local organic farms. Traps heat when you need it and disperses it when you don’t.

The Sumptuous - where the world’s most luxurious natural fibres and our cleverest design ideas meet. Take a look back into the history of luxury mattress making, and you’ll find fibres such as horsehair and cashmere were once prevalent. They’ve always been prized for their natural spring, breathability and durability, but over the decades have been superseded by cheaper synthetic materials.

We combine these layers of cashmere, and horsehair needled with coconut fibres, with our signature natural latex and organic locally sourced wool. The layers unite to provide superior comfort and breathability, aiding your temperature control and allowing you a more settled night’s sleep whatever the weather. For extra support and long-term rigidity on the most wear-sensitive part of the mattress - its edges - we encase the Sumptuous’ spring unit with a hessian wrapped layer of organic coir.

Clever Covers

​In the UK there are strict fire safety standards that mattresses must pass before they can be sold to the public. An overwhelming majority of manufacturers achieve this certification by treating their products with chemical fire retardants. ​This never sat right with us, and we worked to develop a cover fabric that met the safety requirements without the need for any chemicals whatsoever.

We are also the only mattress manufacturer to add a hypoallergenic finishing pr​ocess to our covers. We treat them with natural extracts to guarantee protection from dust mites and bed bugs - perfect for allergy sufferers, whose conditions are often triggered by these unwelcome bedfellows.

    Wonderful quality

    What drew us to purchase a Naturalmat was our desire to invest in something that would not only provide great sleep but would also be natural, non toxic and chemical free. Our old memory foam mattress had long since forgotten how to provide a good nights sleep and we wanted to move forward with materials that better align to our more sustainable and natural values. We could not be happier with our investment and are extremely impressed with the quality, and the fantastic customer service that we experienced at the Knutsford showroom. A huge bonus is the fact that we can get the mattress refurbished, making it a mattress for life.

What You Need To Know About Delivery

  • When can I expect delivery?

    Our current delivery time for mattresses is 4-5 weeks. We’ll be in touch the week before your delivery date to discuss a convenient time and talk through any access issues for your property.

  • How does my mattress get to me?

    Our mattresses are delivered by our own two man team who will take it up to your bedroom and get it all set up. We deliver our mattresses in reusable duffel bags (rather than plastic) which we will then take away again.

  • Can you take away my old mattress?

    Absolutely! Please add the Mattress Recycling product to your order and your old mattress will either be recycled, or if it’s in good condition, it will be cleaned and donated to charity.
