Delivery
Delivery is free of charge and our current delivery time for mattresses is 8 weeks. Please ensure the size you choose will fit up your stairs, around any corners, and through any doorways on the way to your bedroom. If you’d like us to take away your old mattress when we deliver please add The Mattress Recycling product to your basket. You can find more info below or on our Delivery page.

The Lambswool is handcrafted with layers of natural latex and organic wool, around a thick core of organic coconut fibres, known as coir. This central layer helps provide a denser than average feel, perfect for those looking for a firmer mattress. A firm fan favourite, you could say.

In the Lambswool - our most popular Natural Fibre mattress - the firmer, denser feel comes from its core. The central layer of the mattress is made up of a thick sheet of organic coir, with thousands of coiled coconut fibres imparting a firmer feel. We sandwich this coir with two slimmer layers of natural latex to produce a mattress second only to our Mohair on the firm end of our mattress tension guide. Firmer and denser than most, but still blissfully breathable, supportive and comfortable.

Clever Covers
In the UK there are strict fire safety standards that mattresses must pass before they can be sold. The majority of manufacturers achieve this certification by treating their products with chemical fire retardants, but this never sat right with us. So we developed a unique covering fabric, woven with a blend of organic cotton and wool, that met the safety requirements without the need for any chemicals whatsoever.
We are also the only mattress manufacturer to add a hypoallergenic finishing process to our covers. We treat them with an Oeko-Tex certified geraniol treatment to guarantee protection from dust mites and bed bugs - perfect for allergy sufferers, whose conditions are often triggered by these unwelcome bedfellows.

At Naturalmat, we believe that people, not machines, make a superior, long-lasting product. Our team of craftspeople ensure every stitch, every fibre, every tufting button and every cover is painstakingly created, teased and checked. That’s why we proudly stamp ‘Made by hand in Devon’ on all of our mattresses.
Sustainable Packaging
We’ve never liked the idea of delivering our beds and mattresses in reams of bulky, plastic packaging - so we challenged ourselves to get rid of it altogether.
In 2021 we introduced these sturdy, waterproof reusable delivery bags, which were specially made for us in the UK. We now deliver almost all of our beds and mattresses in these reusable bags, saving over 5,000kg of single-use plastic since their introduction.

My wife and I have transitioned from a conventional double bed with a natural mattress to what is effectively 2 adjoining singles separately adjustable for our different requirements. She's gone with the manufacturer's mattress but I very much wanted to stick with natural materials if possible. Naturalmat told me they thought this mattress would be ok on an adjustable bed but couldn't guarantee it. I've therefore taken it on my own risk. However it seems to be fine so far. I'm comfortable on it and haven't had any issues with its response to the bed it's on. I can only hope for the best long-term but no reason to expect early problems. Added to that, the staff were helpful and welcoming when I visited the Knutsford show room to try mattresses out. The delivery team were also obliging, including carrying the old mattress down and out to our garage, which we couldn't have done. All told, a happy experience! Thanks!

What You Need To Know About Delivery

When can I expect delivery?
Our current delivery time for mattresses is 8 working weeks. We’ll be in touch the week before your delivery date to discuss a convenient time and talk through any access issues for your property.

How does my mattress get to me?
Our mattresses are delivered by our own two man team who will take it up to your bedroom and get it all set up. We deliver our mattresses in reusable duffel bags (rather than plastic) which we will then take away again.

Can you take away my old mattress?
Absolutely! Please add the Mattress Recycling product to your order and your old mattress will either be recycled, or if it’s in good condition, it will be cleaned and donated to charity.
