What is Safer Sleep Week?

Safer Sleep Week is a national campaign by The Lullaby Trust aimed at raising awareness of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and sharing the simple advice that reduces the risk of it occurring.

Sadly around 3 babies a week still die from SIDS. If all parents were aware of The Lullaby Trust's safer sleep advice, many more lives could be saved. With around 700,000 babies born in the UK every year, the charity's life-saving message is crucial.

Who are The Lullaby Trust?

The Lullaby Trust is the UK's leading safer sleep charity, dedicated to promoting safer sleep for all babies, offering expert advice on safer baby sleep, and providing specialist support for bereaved families.

Naturalmat Baby is proud to be an official supporting partner of The Lullaby Trust, and we are so pleased that we're able to help promote safer sleep through our collaboration.

What's the theme for Safer Sleep Week 2023?

The theme of this year's Safer Sleep Week is co-sleeping.

A recent report by England's National Child Mortality Database highlighted that many SIDS deaths occur in unplanned hazardous co-sleeping situations.

This Safer Sleep Week, The Lullaby Trust & Naturalmat Baby want the relevant resources and information on co-sleeping to reach as many new and expectant parents as possible, regardless of how they plan to sleep. This will allow parents to prepare a safer space for planned co-sleeping or if they fall asleep without intending to.
