The original 100% natural nursery mattress, perfect for newborns.

A thick layer of organic coir forms the core of the Coco Mat, padded top and bottom with locally sourced organic wool to create a firm, flat and breathable sleep surface - as recommended for new babies by the Lullaby Trust.

    Organic coconut husk fibres, bound with rubber. Breathable, supportive, durable, and an infinitely renewable material.

  • 2. Organic Wool

    Sourced from organic farms local to us in the Southwest. Amazingly breathable, it helps your baby regulate their body temperature.

  • 3. Herringbone Cover

    Clever blend of wool & cotton - woven tightly in such a way that our covers are naturally fireproof, with no need for synthetic FR treatment.

Handmade in Devon using organic & sustainable materials, the Crib Coco Mat is completely chemical free and the perfect mattress for your newborn.

The materials in the Crib Coco Mat are naturally breathable and self-ventilating to help babies regulate their body temperature for a long and comfortable night’s sleep. We source our wool directly from Soil Association certified organic farms local to us in the South West, and our coir is grown by the world’s only certified organic coconut plantation in Sri Lanka.

The Crib Coco Mat features a cover made from a blend of wool & cotton - woven tightly in such a way that our covers are naturally fireproof, with no need for synthetic FR treatment. Likewise, our covers are finished with an all-natural geraniol treatment - making them bed-bug and dust-mite resistant, perfect for children with allergies.

    Crib Coco Mat

    We purchased this mattress for our first born and have just purchased again for our second. We love Natural Mat’s ethos and values. It brings peace of mind to know our babies aren’t lying on a mattress full of chemicals and that they can be recycled/composted at the end of life. The icing on the cake is that they are made by hand Devon!

    The crib coco Mat

    It’s lovely :)

    The smell of wool was quite strong but once covered with the waterproof protector you couldn’t smell it anymore

    Baby seems to like it too :)

    Bespoke moses basket mattress

    I ordered a bespoke sized mattress for a moses basket that was my husband's from when he was a baby and ordered a new mattress made to measure to fit. I needed quite a quick turnaround and the customer service was fantastic, mattress arrived speedily and fits perfectly, my newborn sleeps wonderfully on it and it is fantastic quality, will definitely be ordering her cot mattress from here when the time comes.

What You Need To Know About Delivery

  • When can I expect delivery?

    The current delivery time for nursery mattresses is 3-5 working days, and for Made to Measure nursery mattresses it's 10-15 working days.

  • How does my mattress get to me?

    Your mattress will be delivered by our logisitics partner in the form of a large parcel. You will receive email notification when your order has been dispatched.

  • How will my mattress be packaged?

    Our nursery mattresses are wrapped in home compostable packaging made from potato starch, and delivered in a recycled cardboard box.
