The Coco Mat is the firmest and most breathable of our nursery mattress range, perfect for newborns.

Here’s how it's made: a thick layer of certified organic coconut coir forms the core of this mattress, padded top and bottom with locally-sourced lambswool to form a firm, flat and breathable sleep surface - as recommended for new babies by the Lullaby Trust.

    Organic coconut husk fibres, bound with rubber. Breathable, supportive, durable, and an infinitely renewable material.

  • 2. Organic Wool

    Sourced from local organic farms. Amazingly breathable and helps your little one regulate their body temperature.

  • 3. Removable Washable Cover

    Made from unbleached cotton and machine washable at 60º to combat stains and other nasties. [Cot & Cotbed sizes only] 

The weavers who produce these Moses baskets work as part of a talented weaving co-operative in Northern Ghana. The majority of these weavers are men having been taught the age-old art of basket weaving from their own mothers and fathers. Agricultural work is the basis of most weavers’ incomes, but prolific drought makes it increasingly difficult for families to make ends meet. Basket weaving, and producing these exquisite woven Moses baskets, empowers women and men with the opportunity to earn a valuable second income.


Each Moses basket takes around three days to complete, using veta vera grass (also known as ‘elephant grass’) which grows wild in Ghana and produces wonderfully balanced and sturdy basketry. These Ghanaian Moses baskets are the perfect napping space for new arrivals.

    Your moses basket will be delivered by our logisitics partner in the form of a large parcel. You will receive email notification when your order has been dispatched.

  • How will my moses basket be packaged?

    The moses basket is wrapped in home compostable packaging made from potato starch, and delivered in a recycled cardboard box.
